photos tell stories if we let them.
Imperfections are what turn a photograph into a story. I tag along on outings, in town or in the backyard, to document this chapter for all of its mess and glory.
Ditch the backdrops and overdressed posed pictures.

FAQ
What is a family ramble?
Family Rambles are relaxed and low-pressure outings or hangouts, with a photographer in tow. As someone who doesn't love getting her photo taken, I get that feeling of having to be "on" when there's a lens nearby. I make an extra effort to make sure you're comfortable. Time with me should feel like a conversation. I just happen to be snapping some photos while we chat. Rambles typically run 1.5 to 2 hours, though occasionally I host shorter sessions.
What is a Day in the Life?
Oh, what marvels there are in the mundane! These half-day sessions are an opportunity to capture the season of life you're in, from a newborn arriving home to downsizing the nest, and everything in between. You go about your day, and I tag along to capture those little things that define the now and might prove ephemeral later. Day in the Life sessions are 4 hours-- just enough time to sink into doing your own thing and forgetting about me. That's when the magic happens.
What is documentary style?
Documentary or photojournalistic style aims to capture scenes or stories as they are, with little to no manipulation. I may move a distracting item (that neon plushie that just won't die) or pivot you if I see really good light (photographers are light foragers, did you know?), but on the whole, I aim to artfully and honestly capture this chapter of your life for what it is.
What if I don't know what to do in front of the camera?
Some families feel more comfortable planning their session around an activity-- cooking together, picking blueberries, adventuring in the woods-- others just kind of hang out. Your job is to do something you typically do, so the photos depict your life in this season. My job is to bottle up your time together and pass it back to you for safe keeping.
